The Girrafe Center was established in 1979 by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife in Collaboration with the Kenya Wildlife Service to protect endangered wildlife.

The Center allows interaction between the visitors and the Girraffes by allowing the visitors to feed the Girraffes. This interaction helps people learn more about the Giraffes and visit the sanctuary area where the visitors can explore and observe the natural habitat for the Giraffes.
The giraffe centre serves as both a tourist attraction and conservation facility to help preserve and protect the Rothchild’s giraffe population.
