14-Day Kenya Adventure: From Nairobi to the Savannah and Diani Beach

Exploring Kenya is a journey through some of Africa’s most unforgettable landscapes. From the fast-paced energy of Nairobi to wide open savannahs filled with wildlife, and finally to the calm, white-sand beaches of the coast, every part of the country offers something unique.

This 14-day Kenya itinerary is designed to help you experience the country at a relaxed and rewarding pace. You will explore national parks, meet local communities, enjoy scenic road trips, and unwind by the ocean. Whether you are visiting Kenya for the first time or returning to see more, this journey gives you a deeper connection to the people, wildlife, and places that make Kenya special.


Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – City and Wildlife

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and check into your hotel. Later, enjoy lunch or dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Visit the Giraffe Centre to feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes, then have dinner at Tamambo near Nairobi National Park.

Getting around: Airport transfers in Nairobi usually take 30–60 minutes, depending on traffic.


Day 2: Nairobi City and Culture

Start your morning with coffee at Java House. Visit Nairobi National Park for a morning safari, where you can see wildlife with the city skyline in the background. Have lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden, then visit the Nairobi Railway Museum. End the day with a traditional Kenyan dinner at Boma Inn.


Day 3: Travel to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park, known for large elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Check in at Amboseli Serena Lodge, enjoy lunch, and go on an afternoon game drive. End the day with dinner at the lodge.

Travel time: Nairobi to Amboseli takes about 4–5 hours by road. Flights are also available.

Day 4: Amboseli Wildlife and Culture

Enjoy an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast. Visit Observation Hill for wide views of the park. After lunch, visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about local culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.


Day 5: Lake Naivasha

Drive to Lake Naivasha, a calm freshwater lake known for birds and hippos. After lunch at Sawela Lodge, enjoy a boat ride on the lake and visit Crescent Island, where you can walk near giraffes and zebras. Dinner at the lodge.


Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park

Head to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for flamingos and rhinos. Enjoy a morning game drive, lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, and views from Baboon Cliff. Take an evening drive before dinner.


Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Travel to the Maasai Mara, one of the best safari destinations in the world. After lunch at Mara Serena Lodge, enjoy an evening game drive across the open plains. Dinner at the lodge.

Travel time: About 5–6 hours by road or 1 hour by flight.


Day 8: Safari and Maasai Village Visit

Optional early morning hot air balloon safari, followed by breakfast. Visit a Maasai village to learn about their way of life. Enjoy lunch, then go on an afternoon game drive to spot lions, elephants, and cheetahs.


Day 9: Final Day in the Maasai Mara

Start with an early morning game drive and visit the Mara River. After lunch, enjoy your final safari in the reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 10: Return to Nairobi

Drive or fly back to Nairobi. Enjoy lunch at The Lord Erroll Restaurant, visit the Nairobi National Museum, and end the day with dinner at Nyama Mama.


Day 11: Tsavo East National Park

Travel to Tsavo East National Park. After lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge, enjoy a game drive to see elephants, lions, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 12: Tsavo West National Park

Drive to Tsavo West, known for its beautiful landscapes and volcanic hills. Enjoy a morning game drive, lunch at Kilaguni Serena Lodge, and visit Mzima Springs to see hippos and crocodiles.


Day 13: Diani Beach

Travel to the coast and check in at Diani Reef Beach Resort. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, swimming, or enjoying the ocean views. Enjoy a beachfront dinner.


Day 14: Departure

Enjoy breakfast by the beach before heading back to Nairobi. Have lunch at Suma Restaurant, then transfer to the airport for your flight home.
